Richard Morton Sherman June 12 1928 May 25 2024 was an American songwriter He worked in musical movies with his brother Robert B Sherman Some of the Sherman Brothers best known songs were in live action and animated musical films including Mary Poppins The Jungle Book The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Bedknobs and Broomsticks The Slipper and the Rose and Charlottes Web Their most wellknown work is the theme park song Its a Small World After All
