Born in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan Boyd Banks started his entertainment career at 17 when he won a contest for Best Stand Up Comedian in Edmonton Alberta After spending several years doing comedy in Vancouver British Columbia Banks moved to Toronto where he began acting Boyds first roles were in various comedy series such as the cult favourite The Kids in the Hall 1988 His unique character looks and subtle performances on camera caught the eye of Torontos top casting directors and Banks now works regularly in film and television from comedies to murder mysteries
