Miriam Toews

Miriam Toews born 1964 in Steinbach Manitoba Canada is a Canadian writer of Mennonite descent She is the author of nine books including A Complicated Kindness 2004 All My Puny Sorrows 2014 Women Talking 2018 and Fight Night 2021 and has won a number of literary prizes including the Governor Generals Award for Fiction and the Writers Trust EngelFindley Award for her body of work Toews is also a threetime finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize and a twotime winner of the Rogers Writers Trust Fiction Prize In 2007 she made her screen debut in the film Silent Light Stellet Licht directed by Carlos Reygadas which screened at the Cannes Film Festival She was nominated for Best Actress at Mexicos Ariel Awards for her performance in the film Description above adapted from the Wikipedia article Miriam Toews licensed under CCBYSA full list of contributors on Wikipedia
