Roger Hunt MBE 20 July 1938 27 September 2021 was an English professional footballer who played as a forward Eleven years with Liverpool he was the clubs record goalscorer with 286 goals until being overtaken by Ian Rush Under Bill Shankly Hunt won two league titles and an FA Cup In August 1964 he also scored the first ever goal seen on the BBCs Match of the Day Regarded as one of Liverpools greatest ever players Hunt is referred to as Sir Roger by the clubs fans Hunt was a member of the England national team which won the 1966 FIFA World Cup playing in all Englands six games scoring three times Hunt was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2006 Description above adapted from Wikipedia licensed under CCBYSA
