Alex Mackenzie was a Scottish character actor born in 1885 in Glasgow He was a schoolteacher in Clydebank until he was 61 before taking up a new profession in the cinema He appeared in a number of movies including Kidnapped 1959 High and Dry 1954 and The Battle of the Sexes 1960 He died in December 1965 in Glasgow
