David Justin Hayward OBE is an English musician best known as guitarist vocalist and composer for the rock band the Moody Blues from 19662018 In 1977 Hayward appeared on Jeff Waynes Musical Version of The War of the Worlds concept album including hit songs Forever Autumn and The Eve of the War As well as a successful solo musical career Hayward has composed and performed for film and television Hayward has participated in several stage productions of Jeff Waynes Musical Version of The War of the Worlds between 2006 and 2022
