Stuart Damon was an American actor He was known for his 30year portrayal of Dr Alan Quartermaine on the American soap opera General Hospital for which he won an Emmy Award in 1999 Outside the United States he is better known for the role of Craig Stirling in The Champions He began his career in musical theatre playing the role of Eddie Yaeger in the Richard RodgersStephen Sondheim Broadway musical Do I Hear a Waltz and starring as The Prince opposite Lesley Anne Warren in the 1965 TV remake of Rodgers Hammersteins Cinderella
