Heather Donahue born December 22 1974 is a retired American actress who first came to public attention after appearing as the lead character in Haxan Films lowbudget horror hit The Blair Witch Project 1999 Following the success of the film she went on to star in the sciencefiction miniseries Taken 2002 She also appeared in several independent films in addition to appearing as a guest on several television shows including The Outer Limits and Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia Donahue retired from acting in 2008 and in 2020 she formally changed her name to Rei Hance
