Selvaraghavan is a Tamil screenwriter film director and actor Best known for his collaborations with his younger brother Dhanush which include the critically acclaimed films Kadhal Konden 2003 Pudhupettai 2006 and Mayakkam Enna 2011 he is considered to be an important figure in post2000s Tamil cinema His films often subvert conventional character writing tropes with many of his protagonists being flawed characters or antiheroes and deal with darker themes within traditional genre confines Several of his works are considered as cult classics in Tamil cinema Most recently Selvaraghavan has ventured into acting playing minor roles in movies such as Beast 2022 and Mark Antony 2023 as well as a lead role in Saani Kaayidham 2022 for which his performance was received positively by critics
